Celebrating Eli's First Year! | Family Photographer Manhattan KS

With two babies to raise and their first house to make a home, these two all but have their hands full. Despite the typical busy nature of chasing toddlers and painting drywall, it meant the world to me that this family took the time to pause mid-chaos to take photos. It was evident to me that they knew that this moment, where Eli, their youngest, turned one year old was worth stopping for thirty minutes in the middle of week to get some irreplaceable documentation of his life progression!

Over a year ago I photographed him when he was just days old, and I couldn't believe how big he had gotten. I know, I know. That's a pretty common reaction to seeing small children, but truthfully he had changed so much! There was no way to know that he'd sprout blonde hair, a love for cuddling, and have a lady-catching grin only a year later! When you're small, life comes at you fast. That what makes it so special to be able to see the little ways he changed in roughly 365 days.

While giving out grades for session performance is not typically the way I like to encourage my clients, I would just like to publicly say: you guys earned an A for effort. They marched through dry Kansas grass, they carried until (I think) their arms almost fell off, and they managed to, amazingly, look happy about every last moment of it! Thank you both for trusting me with these fleeting moments, and I can't wait to see all the more delightful things that manage to keep your hands full along the way!
